We are delighted to announce that the Real Environmental Laboratory, a project milestone, has now been completed and is in use.

A historic building within the estate of the Trapani Saltworks underwent conservation works and renovation in order to create a dedicated space where research activities can be conducted.

SEArcularMINE partners from UNIPA and ResourSEAs will use this in-situ laboratory space in Trapani to perform experiments to assess the characteristics of the concentrated seawater samples in order to better understand the potential to recover critical minerals.

In the photos you can see Roberta Cucchiara from ResourSEAs (RES) performing some chemical composition characterisation tasks and SEArcularMINE Co-Ordinator Andrea Cipollina from Università degli Studi di Palermo (UNIPA) collecting samples from the nearby Trapani Saltwork ponds.
