Luigi Gurreri

Luigi Gurreri is an environmental engineer with a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Palermo. Luigi is currently an Assistant Professor of Chemical Plants at the University of Catania.

His research focuses on the sustainability of microalgal industries, innovative treatment processes for pharmaceutical wastewater, energy efficiency in wastewater treatment plants, and the development of new biofertilizers from wastes and residues.

Luigi's involvement in the SEArcularMINE project was primarily in the early stages, where he contributed to the modelling of membrane processes. He highlights the fantastic international team as the most beneficial element of working on the SEArcularMINE project. Luigi is committed to an academic career and aims to further his research in sustainable and efficient chemical engineering processes.
